As you may know, buster_kitten was 18 when I had him put to sleep. What you may not know, is that I adopted him when he was six years old. He came to me, fully grown, with his own odd perks and foibles

I am so glad you wrote that. It was beautiful to read. I honestly think that one of the fastest ways to find the quality people in this world are to look for the ones who are truly devoted to their pets. You have certainly proven to be one of those people. :)

thanks so much for posting this. my cat ruthie (also adopted as an adult and with a story of her chosing me) died a couple of years ago, and it was really hard. i'm really sorry for your loss, and glad for the time you two had together. let me know if there's anything i can do.
