So, a while ago I saw the Perfect Dress. Since I am not interested in wearing white for my wedding, and it will be small and more casual, I want something I can wear again. That is also FANTSTIC.
i know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but i am certain you will be radiantly beautiful even if you end up wearing a hefty bag ;)
that said, i've often found utterly fabulous big-name designer clothes on ebay (i own four "laundry" dresses for <$100 total). so if i were you i'd head over there and save a query :)
This is a great idea! I didn't find a dress like it, but I DID find out that there are a lot of people reselling their Kay Unger dresses. She is my favorite designer, and one of the few where I don't have to try it on - I just KNOW it fits :) She always fits me, and her dresses always look great on me.
There's even one I'd consider, but it's only got six hours on it, so I'm going to contemplate it. I'm still kind of set on this one, or something really similar.
Though if I got something else it'd likely be Kay Unger, so I'm keeping a search for her :)
It' not in boston but if you're willing to go to the Maryland/DC area I bet my mom could do it for a reasonable fee. She's an amazing seamstress and is great for adding creative touches that'll make the dress uniquely you. But I'll understand if you find someone closer to home :)
