Sushi/Ethnic in the Village Area

Aug 31, 2007 23:44

This is probably the most generic question possible, but I am looking for some fun/not too expensive food places?
I'd like something in the village area, preferably sushi/ethnic cuisine?
I know there are a ton of links to this question already, but I wanted to get some fresh answers just in case. ♥

Thanks so much!

Monster Sushi on Hudson (near Charles) is a good time!

Also, what do you mean by "ethnic"? Anything that's non-North American? That's pretty much most places in the Village, unless you're talking the Papaya outlets. :P There's tons of good Mexican (my personal fave is the Caliente Cab Co. on 7th, near Bleecker) and a goodly assortment of other cuisines - Peruvian, Thai, Chinese, etc. And sorry, this is more West Village than Village proper, but... hey, it's not too far! :P

not ethnic, but I love Around the Clock Diner. Open 24 hours, $3 beers, and some meals are as cheap as $5.95

Not ethnic, but cheap and GOOOOD: Mama's Food Shop.

Also, anywhere along 6th Street from 3rd Avenue east, you can get good, cheap Indian food.

well, if you're going to consider fried chicken and two sides for $11 cheap, you should stop in Whole Foods Market Bowery where you can get a blue plate special of:
fried chicken with two sides $6.99
rotisserie chicken with two sides $5.99
fried tilapia with two sides $12.99

or go upstairs to Rustica Minardi and have a dozen mussels for $5.99

Zen Noodle Cafe on St. Marks between 2nd and 3rd has 50% off sushi all day, every day. It's pretty great- you can pig out and the bill is totally reasonable.
