How much does a teeth cleaning run you in the nyc area?
Quick rundown.. my boyfriend went to the dentist for the first time in years and got some work done.. he now has a sheet from his insurance company saying he "might get a bill from the dentist".. the sheet is very confusing, but anyway, the prices stand out to me as being very odd... $300 for cleaning, $300 for xrays, $300 for oral exam (how is that even different from a cleaning).. bah.. and then they charged him $250 4 times to deep clean each section of his teeth. That is not the amount he actually owes..but for those procedures .."his total patient responsibility" is $925.
Is this insane or just nyc?
By the way.. it was done in greenpoint, brooklyn in a not very fancy place.. annd they said all of this work was covered by his insurance except for one procedure which he paid out of pocket for and is not listed on the sheet.
or.. since I don't know much about all this insurance stuff, do you think he wont owe anything and it's just a really confusing sheet of paper.
