Well, I made it home safe and sound without any premonitions of impending death (Hollywood movies are completely wrong) and have finally had a (reasonably) good nights sleep

My work mates were very amused when I recounted your meat cleaver story to them.

Miami Airport has a huge sign over the scanner gates that says "Passengers are politely reminded to remove their handguns before boarding the plane"

I had to ask one of the security people if the sign was really necessary. Her response?

"This is Miami, honey! Sure we do!"

The mind is cringing too hard to boggle.
