[So, what does Amuro do when he's unhappy? Say, when his room-mate is suspected of treason and the world is sure to come to a certain end at the hands of some giant rocky thingy coming to hit earth? Well, other than Blame Char (He's out there somewhere laughing at us, dammit), He works on mechs ( Read more... )

Oh- With things as they are... Everything that's been happening with the moon, my usual contacts with Anaheim are...

[He just let's that trail off. Anaheim headquarters are on the lunar surface- The rest goes without saying.]

Before everything happened, I agreed to test a new successor unit for the Zeta Gundam- It's not complete yet, though. Considering everything, I thought it best to take matters into my own hands here.

When I was younger, robotics was a hobby of mine. In the last war, I in charge of the Gundam's maintenance. I guess you could say this is the 'next step'.

Hey, I've been wondering. This suit you're working on...what's the story with it? Is the Zeta Gundam going to be mass-produced?

It's called the Refined Gundam Zeta- ReGZ for short. It's a early mass production prototype.

If it goes over well, there's a good chance the Federation will adopt your Zeta as the basis for it's next generation suits over the GMs based on my Gundam.

Before everything happened, Anaheim chose me to be the test pilot for the new units.

...Wow. When I started designing the Zeta Gundam, I never expected that would happen.

Anaheim, huh? I see.

...I really have to wonder what's going on out there.

It's typical of how mobile suit development goes. The Hizack was originally based on the Zeon Zaku- The origin of the design doesn't seem to matter so long as it can be practically applied.

...In this case, though... If I can construct the test type here, we'll have another feildable unit. As grim as the situation out there has become, that might be the most important thing to keep in mind.

Y-you've got a taste for the old school style mobile suits too, huh?

I'm more comfortable with this type of machine, I think. I don't have a problem with the newer mechs, but I don't think that older control systems and technologies should be taken lightly- If you use them right, the older suits can still surprise you.
