I was thinking today, as the news ticker went by on an item about "pork-barrel spending", what it must be like for someone learning English to run into odd phrases like that. Think of that for a second. Pork. Barrel. Huh?I've noticed more quirks in my own language since I started trying to learn Japanese. It's kind of like a minor, ongoing eureka.
