Uhm, maybe it's because I'm not a man, but I can't really claim I'm able to follow his logic here. ^_^; This certainly would lead to a heated discussion between Shige and me! (But the last sentence made me laugh. Oh Shige.)

I agree with Shige to 110% <3 He really has a point. It's always interesting to read these essays, to find out what he thinks of things etc.

hmm Shige's example about lying to the gf saying he's home already has a flaw IMO. if the gf finds out later that he lied, its gonna cause even more damage than her knowing the truth at that point of time cuz it would seem like he's hiding something.

but i think to lie or not to lie (not the cheating kind) boils down to the type of girl his gf is. if she's possessive and easily jealous, i would think its alright to "lie" sometimes for minor stuff. but if the girl's alright, by all means go ahead and tell the truth.

and geez, Shige's last sentence is such a contradicting one. XD

he does make sense in a way...oftentimes than not jealous girls see no reason, and will become paranoid over little things...i know bcoz i am that type of person...and maybe bcoz of a bad experience in the past...i know it's unreasonable to just be doubtful of ur boyfriend at times, and it surely will wear him out...trust is still a very important factor in a relationship (at least for me it is)...and i also know that no one is really completely honest...i guess it just depends on the guy, he has to be trustworthy and sensible enough to know whether a certain lie could be considered harmless or too much...

well, it makes you think, doesn't it? But I thought he would be more about little white lies, which I'm totally okay with. The ones he says here...ah, not so much. I think you have to have more trust in a relationship (has Shige been with a few very possessive girls, or what?). On the plus side, it's nice how he says it's for love and gentleness, even if I can't agree.
