Hi all! We've just done another code release to the site and wanted to give you a quick rundown of the changes.

Adaptive site menuThe main site menu has been changed so that it will react to your browser's window size. As your browser window becomes smaller, the menu will as well. This will improve the usability of the site menu for both mobile ( Read more... )

Error for Flexible Squares elrhiarhodan March 13 2015, 23:27:14 UTC

I, and other Flexible Squares users, are getting the following error message when journal entries are loading comments:

Error running style: Died in S2::run_code running EntryPage::print(): Method called on null Comment object at 'Flexible Squares' (#4472608) line 2506 at /home/lj/src/s2/S2.pm line 544, line 2443.

This is not a CSS issue as it occurs whether or not I have a layout loaded or not, and there are other Flexible Squares users who are using the same layout but are completely unaffected.

I think its a problem with the code they uploaded last night. I've turned off custom comments pages and while I would prefer to have them, I want to see the comments to my posts more.

ETA: I though you were commenting on the post I'd made in the Flexible Squares community.

Thanks. I was actually thinking about abandoning my comfortable Flexible Squares life when I remembered that I could turn custom comment pages off.

What really pisses me off is that it's not affecting everyone. A good friend, who uses the template I gave her, isn't having this issue at all.

But I really hope they fix this, because there are too many times that I need subject lines in comments on my journal.

Do you not have subject lines turned on for your journal with the default comment page?

Yup. That's why we've got a chain of Re's going on right now.

Anyways, same place you turned off custom comment pages there should be an option below that one that says "Show subject in comment form for system style of comments." Set that to Yes and you should be good to go.

I don't have that option, the next line underneath the custom comment pages setting is "Use community userpics instead of poster's userpic."

Found it, had to actually disable the custom comment pages (which just makes me sad).

Ive been having this same issue. How do I go about disabling custom comment pages?

Go into your Journal Settings - Customize Theme - Select NO for Custom Comment Pages.
