Also, glad to hear something is being done about the influx of spam, I was getting so sick and tired of my FL being full of crap.

It's not much and, as of yet, not working. The biggest problem we're having right now is that many of the communities have been around quite a while and a lot of mods have left LJ for various reasons without naming replacements. The end result is you get communities which can't defend themselves from spambots, and several of mine have been hammered. I had to lock down my community's membership and scan every member's journal (bots are easy to spot once you know what to look for) while weeding out a number of posts and "members". Thankfully my community is small, about 110 members (down from about 140 once I removed the purged journals and bots).

Any news on the purging of inactive names? Someone said you guys stopped purging names period.

Interestingly enough, a user on the last post noticed that several names that should not have been purged suddenly had been, so LJ has some 'splaining to do on both sides of the issue.
