There isn't any way that I know of that could happen. I know it's got to be frustrating to see these things happen right after using the feature, though.

Our Find a Friend feature is self-hosted (based on this product) and only authenticates through APIs; there's no storing of a password anywhere on the system.

I'll bring this to the attention of our engineering and operations folks just in case, but it's very likely a coincidence.

Far too much of a coincidence that two accounts with different passwords were both hacked on the same evening after I used this.

I never click on the phishing email or spoofed pages. I don't have any keglogging software on my pc. So all signs are pointing to lj.
