Happy Birthday, LJ!

Cue the cake and candles, it's our birthday! On April 15, 1999, brad registered the LiveJournal.com domain name, giving birth to the web's original community blogging platform. Ten crazy years later (and not without some growing pains), LiveJournal is still going strong and we're ready to celebrate. It's not every year that you ( Read more... )

We've requested this ad be removed ASAP. I'm sorry that you had to see it, and it very much does not represent the views of me or my employer. I'll be tracking the status of our request today, and hope to have it completely gone in a few hours.

I'm not the OP, but thanks for responding and taking action.

Thanks for the quick response. After the recent dodge-and-dance of Amazonfail, it's refreshing to see such a straightforward statement.

Thank you. I'm very pleased to be able to show people this quick response to such a repulsive thing.

Now if you could please stop this kind of offensive crap showing up too....

I can't see that link - it looks like a protected entry. But if it's regarding offensive content in an advertisement, I can also check into that today. Because of this situation today, I'm monitoring Feedback closely right now and will be able to see a ticket filed there immediately.

Agh, it's been locked down since it was posted.... Hopefully you'll be able to see it here. Since it showed up on the page of a trans person, it's really, really inappropriate to have this kind of fetishising marketing to tranny chasers showing up. >_< I know people who are taking their business elsewhere because of it.

I'm going to also ask about this right now. That's inappropriate, in my opinion, on so many levels...

For future reference, please do let us know. While we make every attempt to be sure that ads that are served on LiveJournal conform to certain standards, it's always possible that we need to remove something or adjust settings. Particularly with things like the Google ads, please don't assume that we already know about it - even just one report of an ad helps very much.

For now, please go ahead and use the Feedback link in my previous comment (there's some work being done that may end up making it much more possible to report/remove anything like this in the future).

Thanks for the quick and supportive response! I'm just heading out of the house, but I'll use the feedback link when I'm back.
