For those keeping score, today marks one month since my first invoice was submitted for freelance work beginning February 6, nineteen days since my first paycheck was mailed out to me, and five days since that paycheck was cancelled and a new one mailed out in its place.

Awesome.

Assuming today's mail has come, nope! I'm checking again later in the day, just in case, but I'm not holding my breath.

Geez, why didn't they send it express when they found out you hadn't been paid yet?

But that would be using Earth logic as opposed to HR logic. I don't know if they're capable.

OH for... those dickweeds. The USPS in Chicago is the WORST. But it's hard to know who to be angry with, save 'the man'.

Seriously, my offer for help still stands if you need it. I can even get a gun and go crazy lady in that office if you want.

Of course, all I'll use in a squirt gun, but I'll be crazy!

Did they put a track on it (I'm guessing no)?

No, that would be both logical and helpful, and I don't think they're capable of either.

The only solution is to demand your payment in gold doubloons. When you collect your little leather sack of gold, bite down on the coin to make sure that they're real. Then glare spitefully at paycheck office as you shuffle away. :P

I think straight-up boarding and general piracy may be the only way to go at this point. *g*
