You'd pretty much need access to a car. By BART, you go to the Dublin-Pleasanton stop, then go down 580 to Livermore and then-- well. Your friend would probably be able to get you there if they're familiar with the area. If not, there's always Mapquest! It's in a vineyard! Which is cool -- you get to park in between rows of grapes.
But yes. Definitely enjoyable! Some actors better than others, but that's bound to happen.
Except that you need to make Steve direct a Shakespeare show. Joel, this is your responsibility now. I'm counting on you! I'll appear to you in visions like Obi-Wan Kenobi or Mufasa, and be like, "Is he doing it yet?" And you'll be like, "Gah! Leave me alone!" And it'll be kind of like the ghost of Hamlet, only not, because I'm just rambling now.
Measure for Measure freaks me the hell out, which means I adore it. There's rumors going about that SU might be doing it for our winter quarter show, in which case I would die of terrified glee to play Isabel. Man...what a scary, scary play. All's Well is also scary but I think a little funnier, simply on the 'wtf?' scale. Slightly more ridiculous. I should go read those again...
Yes! Yes! The scariness is seconded. I mean, it's explicit in something like Macbeth or Lear, but it's entirely implicit in the problem plays, and that makes it so much worse.
I miss my Complete Shakespeare, languishing in a box somewhere in Ohio. I pine for it like whoa.
! Compleat Wks not with you? How do you live? I do not understand. You must have great strength of will.
Mmmm, problem plays. Like Merchant of Venice too! Which I adore, because I'll be going along, thinking, huzzah, what a lovely play, & then--wha? I am tripped up by something heiniously bizarre. Agh. Shakespeare. What a crazy man.
