LANCELOVE RIDES AGAIN.

My copy of Mystique's Revenge (disc four of Season 2 of X-Men: Evolution, for those who don't know) came today, and I've just finished watching "Shadow Dance," in which little red dinosaurs follow Kurt back from his teleportation dimension and ruin the Sadie Hawkins Dance. This must be said ( Read more... )

The best thing about it is it's narrated by some Standard Narrator Guy, but he's trying to do the Todd!voice, and it's just... oh bejeebie.

Did we ever figure out when that might be, by the by?

"Shadow Dance" is among my faves as well. The scene where Kitty is asking Lance out? One of the best moments for those two, like, ever.

"I'll think about it." (beat) "Kitty? I've thought about it, and the answer is yes."

No angst, no super-villains, no debris falling on their heads. Just Kitty's face lighting up, and Lance causing a mini-earthquake of joy because she's finally willing to make a new start, and guh.

Purr. So much purr. And "HeX Factor" too, when they meet in the mall and he's all "Concerned! Gruff! Oh noes, how to be! Oh look, I'm going to do that awesome thing with the foot-stomping and the ground rippling and the Esther swooning. Oh, I win."

Uh, so maybe it's not quite like that. Still, holy shnikies, do I want Seasons 3 & 4 to come out as soon as freaking possible, 'cause that's when it started getting pee-your-pants good. Plus there were episodes I never got to see, because Cartoon Networks was being a putz about it!

Oh, how I love Season 2 Lance. "HeX Factor"... He should have known that she wouldn't just leave to let her friends get squooshed. But he meant well. And that's what we like about him, tactlessness and all.

And, YES on Seasons 3 and 4. You could tell that was when the writers really stopped pulling their punches when it came to revealing the cruelty of their villains and the desperation of the circumstances (two words: "Blind Alley"). And there are some episodes that I've never seen, either, including "Cajun Spice" (I hate the Rogue/Remy pairing with a rare passion, but I at least want to see what the fuss was about, "Sincs of the Son", and part 1 of "Dark Horizons."
