It may not be 07.04 in Beijing right now, but seeing as our time zone is the only one that counts...

So this is nowhere as awesome as you make them, and even though it's a day late where you are, empatic hullos and hurrahs and yays for you! *glomps!*

So all in all, so far it's been quite great! I woke up at a reasonable hour (9:30, mmm) and found that my betta had had a testosterone explosion during the night.

Idn't 'e cute? This fish is amazing: he's a Wal*Mart rescue and he's lived almost a year. He may be one of the few bettas out there to survive over a thousand miles of car travel. He is also amazing because I thought he was going to die last week: his tail was in shreds and he was really pale all over. Guess averting death gives you a new sense of focus, doesn't it.

So that got me thinking, in my usual not-devious sort of way. I was feeling kind of restless, so I thought, hey, why not go on a nice, wholesome bike ride? So I did. Exciting event: I rode hands-free for the first time in my entire life! No joke. Even though it always makes me think of the end to City of Angels. Hands-free riding = fun in the sun. I love being eight sometimes. And holy crap, let me tell you, there are many things you can hate the Walton Empire for, but their taste in junk jewelry is not one of them.

And, as several of my Athens friends know, a trip to Wal*Mart is never complete without a visit to the fishes. And, well...

I can never say no to the little yellow ones, especially if they have blue eyes. She's sitting on top of my new bookshelf, which was sorely needed. Now my school books are no longer in boxes in our front hall! I tried to put it together myself, but my mom sent my dad upstairs to help after all the furious cursing reached her ear. We got to use a drill: it was tubular.

And apparently Adam Baldwin is in Independence Day. I may, uh, have to get visual confirmation on that. *shifty* P.S. Hey pink_dilemma! Do you want to go to the fireworks tonight?

squealage, wal*mart, bettalove
