Things to think about when it's a cool 89F at 10 PM

I am in love with Madeleine Peyroux in a whole new way. Half the Perfect World has been on my iTunes forever and ever, but I've never really listened to it, for no discernible reason. Things that will change that: listening to nothing but my jazz tracks all day at work. Seriously, listen to ( this one. I'll talk about writing some too. )

I actually have a pair of 20-hole lace-ups that I adore! The only issue is that I need to be able to put them on in the morning, and the laces tear my hands up after I've had a shower, plus they're a zillion pounds and much too hot for summer. I had a pair of ankle stompers that I actually wore until there were holes in the uppers. I'd consider getting a pair of those again, but they don't have a color or pattern that I like enough. Plus I'm really digging the retro look of these two shoes. But I absolutely wouldn't say no to more boots! Those peacock-colored ones, unf.

Ooooh. Ok, if you already HAVE boots. I know what you mean about the 20 holes being a PITA. I once made the mistake of wearing them TO THE AIRPORT. WTF WAS I THINKING.

In that case, I like the first pair of shoes a little bit more. Not sure why.

Oh yeah! I love my shitkickers. But they're a twenty-minute affair on and off, and frankly I don't give myself that kind of time in the morning.

Yeah, the saddle shoes definitely look lighter also, and like they have the same sole as my ankle boots. They have a nice silhouette. I can't shake my love of the clompy brogues, though. Good grief, decisions, decisions!

All these shoes are awesome. I really love the two tone heel ones but of the bottom three, I think the top one works best.

I've always wanted to try out Docs and this reminds me that I should when I'm next in shoe buying mode.

Docs are terribly marvelous! Breaking them in is, of course, hell, but they pay you back for it.

I had a pair of the metallic slip-ons, the last pair. And I wanted to love them, but they were never anything other than wildly uncomfortable ;_;

Oh no! That's a straight-up tragedy. Fie. :-/

For Doc boots, I definitely would have to try them on first or have a free return shipping guarantee, because you have to be lucky re: comfort. Unless they're made of soft napa leather (RECOMMENDED, look for it in the descriptions).

I keep forgetting that I actually have a pair of non-Doc stacked-heel saddle shoes. Hmm, must dig them out and figure out an occasion to wear them.

You've been wanting those brogues forever, so get them already! :D (Fashion tip: they look best with wide-leg trousers or jeans with the cuffs rolled up + cute socks.)
