oysters

Where can we get good oysters for dinner?  And other New Orleans cuisine?  I have some friends in town and I don't really know where to take them!  Looking for something affordable, cheap and casual.

Thanks!

cheap eats, restaurants

Frankie & Jonnies off of Tchop. No oysters, though. Super casual/affordable.
Parasols in the Irish Channel. Only fried oysters.
Cooter Browns Uptown Riverbend is affordable, casual, AND has oysters.
If you gotta have oysters, I vote Cooter Brown's. If you don't, F&J is my favorite.

ditto on Cooter Browns. Unless you can't deal with smokers...unless they made it smoke free by now.

Cooter Brown's. Hands down.

Best beer selection in town, too. If you want to get away from the smoke, sit outside. We see horseback riders sometime, too.

dragos has fantastic char broiled oysters, they are kind of pricey though

Thanks! (You all posted after we left to eat, of course, but I'm taking note for the future!)
