Great exploration into Laura and Dee's feelings regarding Billy's death. I like Laura planning a memorial. I imagine they had one that we just didn't see. I liked Laura thinking Billy is still there helping her at the end. Very nice!!

This is so sad and so sweet at the same time. Laura comforting Dee about her guilty feelings was such a nice touch. I loved it, great job!

Thanks. I'm so glad you liked it. A lot of the dialogue wrote itself, and I realized it made sense for Laura to see the big picture. Glad the sadness and sweetness came through.

Perfect memorial for Billy, for Laura to acknowledge that he continues to be with her. I love that she gives such comforting absolution to Dee in the middle of her own grief, and it's so Laura that she has to see everything in the form of a task to get through it.

This was sweet. I love Laura letting Billy nag her from beyond. Sometimes, it is the only way to get past the gut-wrenching pain, is to pretend they're still here. For a little while.

I really love the way you did this! I feel like I get a real sense of Billy's voice and presence in this, even if he's dead. And of course your Laura is strong as always, but I thought you gave a real tenderness to Dee. It's so sad and sweet, and really well written. Thanks for fulfilling my prompt! :D

Oh, thank you! I'm so glad Billy's presence came through. And I'm thrilled with what you said about my Dee. I thought about how Laura would have felt about Dee and her role in Billy's death, and I realized she probably wouldn't be too mad at her. I was happy to give them a moment like this.
