How she was shot at close range by a centurion, and the bullets didn’t even touch her. Bill wished he had that particular skill. It would have saved him a lot of trouble.

This has such a lovely, dreamy quality about it. I love the way you wrote about how much Laura knows. It's very sweet that they fall asleep holding hands. :)
