I finished Cinder and it's all right. I wasn't blown away, but it's not horrible either. It's so totally obvious that Cinder is the long lost Lunar princess, but it was just one too many special traits. I can handle that she's a cyborg, and okay, fine, she's actually a refugee Lunar who's a shell, but no, wait, she's not a shell and she has a special chip or something to suppress her powers, and guess what? She's the princess, too! Ugh. Can't she just be a mechanic? With the way the book ends, of course you need to keep reading, but the next book isn't even about her. And is the hacker she sees on the screen one of the later main characters? From the way her hair is described, I got a Rapunzel vibe off of her.

Yeah... I wouldn't be surprised if low expectations going in (and being already prepared for typical YA tropes like super-special main characters or ultimate true love stories, that are overused and can get really annoying) made me like it more than it probably deserved, but still, I enjoyed it. And yeah, the hacker is the one I think is the lead in Cress, the third book in the series, the one based on Rapunzel.
