Feels like I'm out of touch...

Well, I'm always somewhat out of touch, of course. I don't even know what's going on with my life anymore. Not that anything actually is, but, I just feel adrift disconnected from time and space ( Read more... )

Matt Smith, Patrick Stewart, Stephen Amell, Nathan Fillion. My gosh, that's a rocking con to me. At least Matt Smith is coming back to Canada. Perhaps he'll bring along Karen Gillan, though she might be busy promoting Guardians of the Galaxy by then.

But yeah, it will be a crazy busy Fan Expo this year now that they've announced a New Who Doctor. But the local Whovians must be going nuts. They should try to break that Dalek world record again and get Matt Smith to judge it, like Colin Baker did last year.

From the standpoint of an objective fan, yeah, it's a rocking con, but for me, personally? I met Nathan Fillion last year and got his autograph. All of the others are cool people, but none of them inspires me to pay the $30-40 entry fee to the con, wait in a huge line, AND pay their huge individual autograph fee, just to meet them, nor to pay just the entry fee just to stand in the same room with them and see them from a few dozen feet away (and many of them I've already stood in the same room with before). Maybe I could take it as an opportunity to just go for con stuff like panels and swag and cosplay-spotting that I often miss (or don't get to do very much of) because I'm lurking around the autograph line checking for what number's being called, but... meh, I dunno, all those people.

Though they still haven't announced anyone on the SF authors list, there's a slight chance I might want to attend for one of those.
