an entry where i ramble on for a while and then completely run out of steam

There’s something very special and sort of forgiving about livejournal. You can make mistakes here, say the wrong thing, use it as a confessional, document your day, reflect on events long past, reveal the secret shining desires and dreams of your heart, be a goof, be serious, be angry, fill it with squee, unload your worries and troubles, vent ( Read more... )

things that make me go arrgh, brain sludge, it's all about me, want, you, possible crotch scaldings, fast-forward, rewind, sweeping generalisations, insightful observations about life, mmm food

We entrust a small and mostly anonymous group of individuals with the intimate and little moments of our livesYears ago before the advent of innerwebs, say in the 70's and 80's, I flew a lot for work. Most were cross country flights that would take 5 to 6 hours just enough time to hear someones life story or tell my own ( ... )

Now tell me my anonymous friend, can Crackbook do that for you?
Nope, it can't. That's one of the reasons why I love anonymous sites like this.

That is very well written :)

I couldn't agree with you more. I left LJ for awhile. I explored MySpace and Facebook, but I didn't like the character limits. I love wordy thoughts being expressed. I still use Facebook, but only to keep up with a few friends who simply don't have the time to be on LJ.

I explored Facebook as well and still have it, but became extremely annoyed with some of the dumb things people would post every 5 minutes it seemed. I mean who cares what you're eating for dinner every night or saying good night every day. I only keep it around now for material for my LJ, such as jokes, weird news stories, etc. I love LJ and have been on here since 2003 and can't imagine ever leaving. :)

I've been on LJ since 2001. I think it's insane the things people will post on Facebook. Who cares that you're going to work...just like everyone else? Attempts at being funny. I prefer getting to know people on LJ.

LJ for life.

Oh wow, I didn't even know LJ was around back in 2001. You're definitely a fellow LJ 4 lifer :)

Oh I couldn't agree more. So damn annoying what people post on there, the stupidest things. And there's no privacy either which annoys me. I don't like being tagged of where I was. I don't need people knowing I'm not home at a certain time.

Yeah, I find LJ much more intimate and the people more engaging and enjoyable to engage in conversations. I love seeing people interact as well on my LJ and become friends with one another. Truly brings a smile to my face.

I've always said nothing beats the original and for me the original has always been LJ. I never left LJ, but I did find myself unmotivated for most of the past couple of years until earlier this year I just had that "LJ itch" and was on a mission to revitalize things on here and breath new life on LJ. Have made so many new friends off this year including Jen a few months ago :)

As much as I haven't been around, I love you too Jen and love reading what you write and when the mood strikes, I like writing something for you to read.

This is undoubtedly the loveliest comment you've ever left me, Tomas! I love reading your entries too :)

You do realise I'm going to remind you of this comment whenever you attempt to call me out about something or poo-poo one of my entries?? :P Oh yeah, I'm going to get a lot of mileage from this!!

Awwww thanks Jet/Cal, right back at ya! But even though I think you're fantastic, there's just no way my monkey minions are changing your villain name to Kai :P
