The problem with being hopelessly incompetent in the kitchen is that you get blamed when kitchen things go wrong… and it’s not ALWAYS your fault. Take for instance this weekend, where I made myself a lovely mushroom pizza and cooked it in the oven. The pizza itself turned out to be delicious, if a little watery (I was pleased that I’d navigated the ( Read more... )

Mushroom fumes are toxic and corrosive. They acted on the glass, shattering it. You should have known that. GUILTY!

There isn't a court in the universe who would have you as a jury member on an issue pertaining to mushrooms! You are a mushroom bigot and everybody knows it! I've only ever known one other mushroom prejudiced individual and that's Dee - you two are just weirdos.

Mushrooms are lovely. I gobble them up raw and cooked and although I may have some toxic fume issues at times, I don't think they are mushroom related :P

Mushrooms came to this planet on an asteroid from the far flung reaches of the galaxy. On their home planet they are in point of fact a highly aggressive form of the clap.

This oven was less than a year old, so still under warranty thank goodness. I just never imagined that the inside of the grill door would EXPLODE like that when the grill wasn't even on. It's as wacked as a wacky wacker of wackdom! It does make me feel a bit better though to know that others have had similar kitchen explosions - company is always nice :D

Ultimately I'm always okay - it's kind of my thing :)

And yeah I just hope they don't try to pin the blame on me like my housemate did or there could be a serious oven workman smackdown going on soon! (I'm sure you know I'm all talk. I don't even know what a smackdown looks like.)

Glass cookware is scary...

Yeah that's very true, but I never thought that a part of the actual oven/grill itself would go KABOOM so dramatically! I guess I'll be more vigilant around glass in future though.
