Anime Encourages Murder

oh, man, HI-LARITY. WHAT WILL THEY THINK OF NEXT?

OH MY GOD THIS PART IS MY FAVORITE:
"Check your child’s computer for anime and anime terms, TODAY. Your child could become an otaku, a furry and even a murderer if not a sexual ( Read more... )

What gets me in particular about the line you mentioned.. are they implying the sexual deviancy is worse than murder? Maybe I'm just reading it wrong, but the "even a murderer if not a sexual deviant" bit just sounds like they are.

And of course, the anime will turn you into a furry bit never ceases to amuse.

This article also annoys me because it's totally misrepresenting one of my favorite series. Higurashi, while yes it does have messed up violence, is not ALL ABOUT the violence. They kept talking about one part of one storyline out of like, 8 in the series. A quick glance at Wikipedia would highlight the fact that the series is predominantly about solving the mystery to STOP the senseless violence, not promote it. -_-;

HAHAHA I didnt even notice that about the sexual deviancy > murder thing.

i pretty much wont watch anime without violence (they tend to bore me after a while) so i know how you feel. <-- that sounds awful haha. but yeah, there is so much more to a series than how much bloodshed they show!

also your icon scares me a lot. :x

Apparently, it's okay if you go out and kill someone as long as you don't dress up in animal costumes to have sex! Who knew?

There are some non-violent animes that I love. But for the most part, yeah I need some sort of action or otherwise some sort of psychological mindfuck to be totally drawn in. Higurashi sort of delivers on all those fronts. It has the happy happy school times, pretty gruesome violence at times, and of course there's the "WTF IS GOING ON?!" aspect of it as well. Hence, it has quickly become one of my favorite series.

XD I LOVE THIS ICON. It's from Higurashi. YOU SHOULD WATCH IT.

Wonder if /b/ got a hold of this by now. :B

"It turns out that there are a group of criminals, known euphemistically as “fansubbers” who routinely pirate hentai (perverted) and ecchi (adult) anime when it airs in Japan. Computer files containing the captured video, known by insiders as raws, appear on illicit websites immediately after broadcast.

Fansubbers quickly translate the dialogue into English and add subtitles using computer software. They then release this dangerous material, without permission, to the world on numerous clandestine websites which hungry anime fans (including lots of impressionable children) enthusiastically download and watch secretively."

AHAHAHAHA.

Letsee, his definitions of ecchi and hentai being mixed up aside, I'd like to know which innocent impressionable children download such things secretly. I know the first time I downloaded hentai by accident, I ran the hell away. XD

Best thing since the FOX report on 4chan.

Wow, that absolutely hurt my brain. And what's worse is I'm living in an area that WOULD AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY. *doh!* So as funny as I know it is, it's just giving me a headache. ;_; omg, never decide to live in a Rural area. ie, Lancaster, PA because there ARE people like this in concentration!

Sill Christian Fundamentalists. Don't they by now know that the TV and Internet are never good babysitters? And correct me if I'm wrong, but usually isn't it AMERICAN violence the one to blame? We are known for our action movies from what I understand...

that's my thing...isn't LIVE-ACTION gore a little worse than animated gore?? i've gotten much worse ideas from Law & Order episodes on how to kill people than any anime series I've watched.

Exactly~! It's amazing they haven't attacked the "true crime" genre yet. They went after another prime-time show they successfully got canceled that was on at 9 saying it was "bad for the children." WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING LETTING YOUR 5 YEAR OLD WATCH TV AT THAT HOUR? [/end rant]

Brownback!! he's my senator and i kind of love him because he does what he wants. he's totally honest. he doesn't care who gets upset with him. but that Law & Order is totally going to beat him.

oh snap, you're from Kansas, that's right!

since it's relevant, and out of curiosity, which of the Republicans do you want as a candidate if you could pick? regardless of who you think might do well and who won't.
