Akkarin crouched near the burnt-out house, studying the wreckage with senses both physical and magical. He'd discovered many things, but not many of them were particularly useful for determining the cause of the fire. He wished Lleaseaf was willing to help; he felt the djinni knew much more about this sort of magic than he did.
The sound of Marie's bicycle skidding to a halt distracted him, and he turned.
"Akkarin, you seen any of our doctors or healers lately?" she asked. Akkarin stood.
"Not today," he said. "I came straight here this morning. Is somebody hurt?" He inwardly assessed how much his magic had recovered from fighting the fire. "I might be able to heal it if it's not too serious, or get them far enough so they can go the rest of the way by themselves."
"We have a new arrival, she's in pain," Marie explained. "Unfortunately, I wasn't able to assess her injuries."
She looked at him, knowing that his magic wasn't as powerful at healing as Llaeseaf's, but also that Llaeseaf had still been recovering from too much fire energy. "She's at Aleila's place, near the edge of town. I'm going to see what and who else we have in the way of healing. Do you know where Aleila lives?
"I don't, but there are few enough people in Haven that I can find them ," Akkarin said. "If you can just indicate a general direction, I shall track down any group of people I find in the area."
Marie pointed in the direction of Aleila's house. "Good luck, I'm going to see who else is available."
Not waiting to see Akkarin leave, she pedaled in the direction of the cul-de-sac, looking for Llaeseaf first. Healing would probably take care of the wound faster. "Llaeseaf!" she called.

Llaeseaf would have burned off the excess energy by the next day. It's likely that Marie would have seen him around town the next day since this takes place late in the day. Feel free to have her peddle to his house to let him know his skills are required.
Gojyo let out a humorless chuckle. 'Dead folks', like the woman called them, weren't all that uncommon to him. He'd seen mountains of them; both human and youkai. If he was staying anyway, maybe he could help them remove them. He, at least, wouldn't mind touching them as much as most. That, and he would do just about anything right now for a shower and a meal. "I can help with clean up duty if you want, but I'd just love a shower and some food first," he pulled out his cigarettes and to his annoyance he noticed that he only had one left. "And some cigarettes would be appreciated too. Hi-lites would be awesome but right about now any brand would do..." He toyed with his last cancer-stick for a second and than put it on, figuring that either he'd get new ones soon, or he wouldn't be getting any for a good while and than it didn't matter when he smoked his last cig anyway.
"Well there are pleanty of open homes around here, I just need a barn for those guys," Kal said as she pointed at the horses. "A large batch of the people here...I don't know if you saw the other ways people died or not, but not everyone just died..." Kal felt the haunted feeling seep into her soul. "...some people just...disintegrated, others vanished."
"Anyway, this town had a lot of the vanishings I think, there isn't nearly as many bodies as I would think, judging by the smell," she said as she looked at the man.
"And there are various stores about that might have what you want in the way of cigs," Marie said. "Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with which ones, as I don't smoke."
She motioned generally at the town. "Make yourself at home. Move on when you want to. Try to contribute to the society as a whole, that's all we ask."
"If you're looking for a place to stay and I am, do you want to split a place," Kal asked, looking at Gojyo. "There are things in this new world that I rather have someone around to watch my back."
Kal looked at Gojyo before laughing.
"Damn, I hope I don't sound forward or anything, I wasn't even thinking," Kal said, smiling.
