[Chel] Good Morning!ivory_thornsOctober 31 2006, 04:54:13 UTC
Chel yawned herself awake, a bit surprised to find herself in a comfortable bed. Almost immediately, however, she snuggled further beneath her covers and yawned happily
( ... )
"Hey, Good morning, Honey," Audrey said as Chel came into the kitchen looking cheerful. "Shredded Wheat- frosted. Milk was a little too much to hope for, though."
The kettle started whining, so Audrey got up to turn it off. Then, she went to the cupboard and found a bowl for Chel and a couple of mugs. Raising one of the mugs up to show Chel, she asked, "Tea?"

Chel's interested look immediately dulled to an almost resentful expression. "Ick. Without milk?" She had never liked the cereal to begin with, but she couldn't imagine how awful it would taste without milk to give it some flavor.
"An' I don't like tea." That wasn't exactly true -- Chel had just never tried it. Even so, her usual breakfast would have to suffice. After opening a few cupboards, she found the canned goods and, within moments, had pulled out a small container of fruit cocktail.
"Tada! I'll just have this, 'kay?" With a cheerful look, she found a spoon and set her meal on the table, standing only long enough to fetch a Pepsi out of the fridge. Now how perfect was this?
Before Audrey could protest her choice of breakfast, she cracked open the can and took a long swig of the cold, sweet liquid. Pepsi. How long had it been since she'd had a cold Pepsi? And for breakfast? Ages and ages.
"Hey, what's this?" she asked, pointing to the list of supplies on the table.
Audrey shuddered at the choice of breakfast Chel had made. She longed for the days when she could have eaten anything and not felt any complaints from her poor stomach. Two weeks ago seemed so very long ago.
"Hey, what's this?" Chel asked. Audrey picked the list up and handed it to Chel.
"Wish list. Bobby and I started it. You can add on, if you want. We just didn't want to forget something important and not remember it until we were long gone, you know," Audrey explained. "Ice cream's not on there, but I'm sure if you worked on Bobby, it could be."
