Let us ask: what is the point of a party? To hang out with your friends and have fun. So let us lay out a few things that you should NOT do at a party.

I really needed to rant about that. I tried yawning and looking cross and hoping that they would get the hint to stop looking at YouTube, but I didn't want to rant out loud in case they thought I was ruining the fun.

I'd just attempt to tell them in a non-ranty sorta way, because just trying to give them hints would kinda be lack of proper communication, and if you've ever seen cliche TV you know that communication is supa important.
And this same sorta thing is why Twitter bugs me when people update while I'm talking to them.

Update 2: "I'm talking to Michelle."
Update 3: "Michelle seems kind of mad. I wonder why?"
Update 4: "I forgot how much I like pickles."

Also, I enjoy your use of the word "cross" in your comment on this entry.
And the texting thing drives me *crazy*.

See, I don't have *so* much of a problem with YouTube inherently (but yes, two hours is excessive) because generally watching stuff on YouTube with other people is a lot more fun than watching stuff on YouTube by yourself. Also, at the last reunion I went to (at Tigg's house, to which neither of you could come) majority opinion was that we always spend too much time watching movies instead of hanging out, so we should not watch any movies at *all*, but this ended up leading to a lot of, "So guys...um, what should we do now? Um...another board game?" which was just as big of a fail, since we weren't really hanging out when we were playing board games either, and most of these games were actually pretty lame, and one of them was so bad we were all yelling at each other by the end of it. >.< In summary: watching stuff can be a form of hanging out, as long as it's kept in proportion, and if you're trying so hard to hang out that you don't let stuff just happen naturally, that can be just as big of a fail
