Trying not to let her nervousness show, she plastered on a smile, though it was faint.
She wouldn't comment; she didn't think it would be right nor fair. If this was his home, she would appreciate it as that.

"Nanny, Chistery?"
The skittering was normal to Liir, an undercurrent that was just a part of the castle, but he'd understand if Amber was a bit weirded out by it. One of the monkeys, their wings folded to their back at the moment, trotted out. It wasn't Chistery but Shrieker.
"Shriek," he said with a tip of his head, "Chistery?"
There were a few jumbled words and finally a point. Down in the kitchens.
"All right. And Nanny?"
That just got a look.

And she stared, of course. Yeah, Liir talked about them but to see them up close and personal was more than surprising. Amber grinned and gave a dorky little finger wave at it. She didn't know any better, really, and she thought it cute.
"What's his name?" she whispered.

"Shrieker. Shreik. I gave them all names, but only some of them answer to it. They're not exactly friendly but they're not really trouble makers either."
