Honestly, I can see nothing wrong with this essay. It manages to touch on every element that makes FFX so grand, at least to some extent, without the usual "oh look, pretty graphics." There's so much depth and underlying spiritual meaning to be found in this game, and you covered pretty much all of it. Thanks for posting this here. I really enjoyed it.

And if that professor doesn't give you an 'A,' tell me, and I'll kick him, ok? You definitely deserve it.

Oh, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) I agree...there is *so* much spiritual meaning in this game...there are so, so many things I found in my research that I just couldn't fit in here...and it's odd, I know we have discussed in this community before any relation between VII & X...and, at least from a religious & philosophical standpoint, Spira & Gaia really do have *so* much in common!

And...I don't know if this is quite an A paper...but I can always hope! :)

Good essay, though in some parts it got a bit muddled and confusing as to what you were referring to. I guess it needs a second read through to become clearer.

I really like it. Good referencing. I feel enlightened and I now want to replay it.

Let us know what mark you got, alright? :D

Yeah...I agree, some parts feel muddled. I edited anything that delt with plot summary so many times, and I know there are at least a couple of places where I've made a plot reference before I actually explained it...ah well. The game is just so big!

You should replay it...it is quite wonderful! I have played it many times, but as I was working on this over the semester was also playing through again, specifically looking for things I could use for my paper...this game just has so much hidden meaning in it.. :)

I really have to do that one day. Sit down, play a game and shush anyone who disrupts me with 'I'm trying to research, be quiet!!!' Ahaha!

I'm actually sporadically playing through it right now. But it's been so long I don't know where I'm up to, lol! I'm just having fun doing the mini games and improving my characters.

I actually found this essay through Google search. (I was searching "yuna" and "pilgrimage") and... wow. You essay is very good. It's well-written, the voice remains constant and maintains attention, and you have defined the greater meanings within FFX wonderfully. And this line, "And while modern Summoners may not go on a pilgrimage across large treks of terrain to obtain aeons, there are individuals who wish to rid the world of sorrow, even at personal expense to themselves." is incredible (and I personally feel that very well) you have just captured everything with this essay. Well done!

Oh...wow! *blush* I feel famous!

This essay was a lot of fun to write...FFX is my favorite Final Fantasy game, and Yuna is, in addition to being my favorite FF character, one of my favorite characters across all fandoms, and I identify with her so much...so to be able to research her journey was definitely very enjoyable :)

I am glad you like that line! I am not on a whole very impressed with my writing in this essay, but...I do kind of like that sentence :) I think there are many of us who feel that way...and I remember you from a couple of rating communities, you are definitely one of the Yunas of our world :) Thank you for taking the time to read this!
