Hardest Boss Ever?

Alright kids, time for another lame-o question that no one will really answer.

Every RPG needs a superboss; one that's hidden somewhere, in some dungeon; one that could beat the final boss's ass ten times over. And ever FF has one. So here's my question:

In your opinion, which boss was the hardest?

I can answer my own question in one word:
Penance.

Sure, every game has their own superboss. And most, if you'll notice, are Weapons;
FFVII - Emerald Weapon
FFVIII - Omega Weapon
FFIX - Ozma (not really a weapon)
FFX - Nemesis (a.k.a. Omega Gold)
FFX-2 - Trema

Alright, so Ozma is a big ball of evil and Trema was an old man (though he was accompanied by Paragon, who IS a Weapon). But nobody, I mean NOBODY can top FFX International's Penance. It's bad enough that the Dark Aeons made FFVIII's Omega Weapon look like a pansy, but this guy was nearly invincible.

7,000,000 HP. That's a freaking lot. Even with 99999 HP per character and Auto-Phoenix on everybody, he took me over an hour to kill. Never have I seen a boss so unbelievably powerful. Honestly, he gave me nightmares.

OK, so I've had nightmares about toothpaste too, but still.
That's my input.

I'm gonna have to say VIII's Omega Weapon. That's the only boss that managed to kick me arse in one turn.

I only have two games I have currently played against the superbosses in - FF7 and FF8 - so I'll give my thoughts about them only

I think I'm going to have to go with mimi_sardinia's mention of Sephiroth in KH2 and say that he, to me, is the hardest optional battle EVAR

... For me, Expert Mode-KH Sephiroth was FAR harder than Proud Mode-KH2 Sephiroth.

KH2 has so many useful skills, and the movements are neat (plus you get reaction commands and you can even trap Mr. Evil in an almost unfinishing combo), but in KH? No way, Killing Seph there is absolutely evil xD

KH 2 Sephiroth huh? I don't mean to sound like a fool but I found that Sephiroth to be so easy! Well compared to the one in the first Kingdom Hearts, that one was a beast, but I digress. KH 2 Sephiroth leaves himself wide open too much. All you need is the double jumping technique, that's the backbone ability for that fight. Just stay away from him when he does his basic slashes. Then when he does the reaction command slash, cancel it out with triangle then go behind him and attack him. You should be taking 3+ bars away each time you get the chance to combo him up a bit, especially when you equip Explosion!

Then when he gets really injured he will start doing Heartless Angel. When he floats up just run towards him and double jump up to him and beat the crap out of him in midair. Once again, you should be taking away 3 + bars. Just get ALL of your cool abilities from maxing out your Valor, Wisdom and Master forms. Oh and I recommend getting your ultimate keyblade...for the MP Haste. ;)

Lol maybe I just need to attempt him again! Thanks for the tips, I'll be sure to try those out :)

Though Sephiroth in the first KH game was insanely tough...and now that you mention it, he may have been the more difficult of the two!
