The Meaning Of J-E-N-O-V-A ?

Sep 14, 2006 14:34

I was just thinking do the letters in “J-E-N-O-V-A” mean anything special? I checked wikipedia and I couldn't find anything regarding this question. Normally when scientist spread out a word like they did with Jenova, the actual letters of the word spells out a secret code which represents the actual thing. Well if this was the case for Jenova's ( Read more... )

Vass=Vast?

Hrm.. I'm pretty sure the acronym J-E-N-O-V-A isn't actually an acronym. The Japanese just do that. Kind of like AVALANCHE. What the hell would AVALANCHE stand for, you know?

Thanks for pointing that error out. My mistake.

Hmm...that's interesting. But you know what I find weird? Why didn't they just display it as A-V-A-L-A-N-C-H-E just like they did with Jenova? I'm not saying you are wrong, I see your point. But I just find it weird that Jenova and Avalanche are displayed differently, sometimes. But I'll be sure to keep your point in mind, no doubt. :)

J-E-N-O-V-A is just for the song title - not the actual name Jenova... I always thought that maybe it just for effect for the title - or fitted in with the song somehow...

Although I don't actually think that it is supposed to be an acronym - I like your words to go with it!

I think Jenova is just a play on Jehova - that ties in with the whole Sephiroth thing - something people were discussing back on mythrauders

Lol...yeah that's true. But isn't it such a cool tune? Although the ShinRa theme totally owns it! But yes...I see what you are saying. :)

Heh...it totally fooled me at first, lol. But I'm glad you like the words I picked out. It just matches so well, that I thought I was on to something.

Thanks for the info! ;)

This is what I figured....

Jenova is an off shoot of "Jehovah" and "nova," the Hebrew name of God and the Latin word for "new," thus meaning "New God."

... which is one of the reasons why 'she' is referred to as "the Calamity from the Skies"

In short, it's a biblical mythology reference.

At least in my mind that is....

Oh wow...nice one. You totally got me there! But you know what's weird? I totally agree with you that Jenova really means "New God," but one would think that would have been only Sephiroth's theme, lol.

But yes...I'm with you all the way with this one. :)

I second ff7aeris's idea. I've always thought Jenova to be a reference to "Jehovah", because in some ways, the story has made Jenova to sound like some god. A evil one, but one nonetheless. Of course she's not one, but at least Seph made her to sound like one. XD

Yeah her idea blew my mind! It makes allot of sense. Jenova...a God. Its a pretty neat way of looking at her. Now I feel a bit sorry for her because she got really roughed up in AC, lol. Oh well..life goes on. :P

But part of me wanted to see what was inside that box. I know they said it was Jenova's head, but what kind of condition was it in? I'm guessing the head had a bullet hole thanks to Rufus, and a big gash due to Cloud's attack. Or maybe it was just to nasty to show, lol.

Heh, actually... the Japanese Dialogue version, it's Jenova's Neck... which makes more sense considering the size of that container. No head could ever fit in that. At least a whole one that is, and if it is not... well... that's pretty fucking gross
