Emotional Scenes?

May 05, 2006 19:47

So, what do you guys think is the most powerful or emotional scene in the ff series? Probably a stupid question, as I'm sure Aeris's death is a shoe in, but since I've never played FF7 (I know!) ...

Hmm..well emotional and powerful are different things to me. For most powerful I'd have to agree with you on the '1000 words' segment, but for most emotional, it was FFX's ending ( ... )

You have a point there. And then, in the end, when she finally told him ... I don't know, it wasn't all that fabulous. Kind of a, 'great, you told him. Can I finish the game now?' type of thing.

"In all honesty, I felt that was the only worthwhile scene in the entire game" - I'll agree with that. I actually liked the game more than anyone else I know, but all in all it just wasn't great. And Vegnagun ... what the heck was that? I thought the boss battle was supposed to be difficult. Oy ( ... )

It was for me as well, but Seifer's my favorite character of any of the games, so I may be biased ^.- One thing that got to me - not in the fishing scene though - was how Seifer's trenchcoat was all ratty when he was throwing rinoa to Adel. I felt bad for him! Squall's got everything going for him, saving the world, and poor Seifer is being mistreated :(

I forgot about this scene (shame on me!), and I agree with you all the way. The look of absolute peace on his face, after all of that, is amazing, like he's finally accepted what has happened and his heart is free ... or that's how I see it.

I noticed how worn out Seifer's coat was, as well. I thought it was due to his intense training, and multiple thumpings he got from Squall and company. But that did show us that Seifer never changed his coat while he was a knight. But in the ending, we seem him with a brand new coat. So I then I was thinking that maybe he returned to Balamb Garden, and got a spare coat, and then he left, to return another day. Or Fujin and Raijin got it for him, who knows. :P

Emotional and powerful. . . emotional and powerful. . . this is diffcult.

I think the most emotional one for me was probably also the ending to FFX. I was practically bawling, rather embarrasingly. I find it odd because I'm not as attached to those characters as I am to the ones from FFVII and VIII.

Actually an emotional point in VIII is when Squall gets stabbed by that ice crystal at the end of disc one, and again in the ending FMV when I thought he died. ^^;

As for powerful? As odd as it may seem, the point in VIII when Squall is giving the uplifting speech to the students of Balamb Garden during the Garden battle at the end of Disc 2, with "The Oath" playing in the background; that really stuck with me. It was uplifting even for me.

Oh yeah, and also. . . ^^; (I can never pick just one), the pond scene in Makalania Woods with Yuna and Tidus. I don't know if it's just the context, the music or the beauty of the FMV, but it always touches me.

I think I have to agree with the ending to FFX--I must have beaten that game 5 or 6 times and I still just bawl every time...pretty much every cutscene from the last save point, whether it's Tidus finally seeing his father--how he says "I hate you" but you know he really means "I love you," and then as soon as Yuna starts her sending...it kills me. Seeing Auron finally be sent, and when Sin falls and the spheres are released and you see the sphere of Tidus...I'm tearing up even thinking about it. It breaks my heart so much.

And yes, Aerith's death is also up there for me. I still cry listening to her theme every once in awhile just thinking about it :-(

I felt the same when Auron was sent. And also when she runs through Tidus and falls on the floor. :(

Dude when she fell through Tidus...man I had been crying enough but I just lost it.

And I also thought of another really emotional moment for me, from VIII--I actually didn't really connect as much with VIII as most people seem to have, but during the ending movie when Laguna had his flashback and then he was standing at Raine's grave...that was the only moment in VIII when I really full out cried, but man did I. Poor Laguna :-(

Actually, on that scene, I was happy. I was like this is so awesome. Raine and Laguna married before she died. When I first heard that Raine died, I thought it was sad because Laguna wasn't there to be with her. But everything changed. He was there!!

I think the most emotional moment was in FFX! When Yuna starts crying and Tidus kisses her. Well the scene that led up to that. Tidus didn't understand up to that point what it meant to be a summoner. So Yuna started crying.

That scene was a classic. Or even when Yuna performed a sending for one of the first times, for those people by the sea. I think Sin killed them with a huge tidal wave. That was pretty touching.

It was very touching. Now that I remember more about the game, more things seem so touching. I'm starting to think it's more touching than another ff game I've played.

I also think FFX was trying to teach a lesson. Mainly about the Al Bhed. How we shouldn't hate them just because they do things we don't.
