But what happened to the Turks?

So I'm sure the answer to this question probably lies in Before Crisis, but as I live in the States and thus cannot own it, I was hoping maybe somebody here knew the answer. And if you don't (or if there is no canon answer, which I suppose is still likely), I had a question about the Turks ( Read more... )

Obviously major spoilers below.

This is vague summary taken off the AC boards, so anyone else, feel free to elaborate. Basically, at the very end, there's a big showdown within some building complex, they succeed in defeating the...I don't know, monster, boss, whatever, and then all the FF7 Turks we know of get out, but the BC Turks and Veld get trapped inside. We assume they're dead until you flash to present day, and Square pulls random deus ex machina to basically make them all...be alive again. There's some contact with Tseng, I think, but the gist is that they're currently working with Veld underground seeing as how the whole political wank in BC forced Veld to break away from Shinra, and the Turks decided to stand by him in the end. So yeah, I guess you could say in FF7 and beyond, they're still around technically...but not in direct contact with Shinra. Due to obvious problems seeing as how I recall the President ordered them to kill Veld.

Cool thanks :) I knew you couldn't bring down that many Turks so easily :)

And of course, I'm still foolishly holding onto the optimism that BC (and the phone necessary to play it...) journeys overseas eventually :)

You know, I never took that into consideration. I did see the movie Last Order, and notice al of the extra Turks present. At first, I thought they were killed off, or simply quit. I'm aware that President Shinra told Tsend to kill Vled, who was the Turlk's leader at the time. To be honest, I didn't really think that so many Turks were needed. I strongly believe that Tseng, Elena, Reno, and Rude are just enough to get any job done. ;)

Here is a link that talks about all of those Turks. Welcome back, by the way. ;)

I dunno.... from what I saw in AC, they are *not* really a combat force... mainly for infomation gathering and *cough* other stuffs. Come to think of it, I don't think they recived any 'medical' treatments either... They appear just as human as the rest of us, but with more specialized skills...

Just an observation.

Well...I know their main duty is information gathering and carrying out a lot of ShinRa's dirty work (kidnapping Aerith/obtaining the Black Materia), but (and this is entirely just my own interpretation), I always saw them as being fairy resilient...Tseng was skewered at the Temple of the Ancients and left for dead, but managed to survive, and then he and Elena survived their torture by the SHM when even Vincent wasn't sure if they would pull through. And while they weren't the most difficult opponents in the game, they put up a pretty good fight.

But hey, it's all speculation for the most part, right? :)

True, but that didn't really dawn on me... you have a point.

I am with you 100%, the Turks are a combat force. They were very skilled fighters, even Rufus is pretty tough. I'll admit they were at a disadvantage since they were fighting people Jenova cells, nevertheless...their awesome fighters. What I like about Rufus is that he fought Cloud 1 on 1, and I'm sure that was a cool fight if they put it in movie form, plus when Reno fought Cloud, Tiffa, and Barret...that awesome.

The Turks are simply awesome. :D
