How rude. Xaki thought in annoyance as he regarded the rather scrawny boy sitting in front of him, behind a desk that truly seemed to dwarf his figure. “I heard that a detective lived here, are you him?” He questioned bluntly as he approached the desk, the leather creaking with every step he took “Only, I need to find someone,” Is he the owner? He’s awfully young. Probably paying some kind of prank whilst his superior isn’t around. I’ve never heard of a child detective before. He reasoned, peering at Soren through his thick white bangs. “So, do me a favour and get your boss, kid.”

"He's not here right now," Soren said coolly, giving Xaki a cool glare. "Unexpected business trip." He didn't outwardly react to Xaki's clothing, although he internally noted that the other was probably into some funny business. Whatever, it really wasn't his concern. "Perhaps you should've called ahead. Come back next week."

“And they left a child in charge?” Xaki questioned, not quite believing what Soren had told him. If he does speak the truth, I would be better off resuming my own search for the Zero Number instead of wasting my time here. Regarding him and cracking his knuckles absently, he offered “I hope you’re not lying to me.”

Soren's eyebrows arched. What was with the child thing, anyway? Since when did you see a child reading an advanced guide to thunder magic? "I'm a boarder here," he responded flatly. "Not their secretary. I'm doing this as a favour and nothing more." More like he was doing it because the stupid key was gone. This idiot's never going to leave. "Fine, I'll take a message. Who are you looking for?"
