What exactly is the hard drive doing? Any clicking noises?
Don't mess with it too much if you're not getting anywhere, your files might still be recoverable despite the reformatting - but the more you use it in the meantime the more likely your stuff will be permanently lost. Especially try not to create any new files, download stuff or install anything new just yet.

No clicking noises but very laggy and very slow. Some files can't be read I think, I'm not sure about all this stuff. Computers aren't my strong point O.o;

Thank you but it's alright my brother's dealing with it and what he has done it seems that the hard drive is not fixable... anyways I don't care anymore I'm just sick and tired of this crap =(
