Noted on Raph!

As for Snape -- d'you know, he was one of the few I spent my work shift wondering how that would work. I don't remember how occlumency works in particular, it's been so long since I read it. Does it only work against someone actively peeking into memories and emotions (No-Name can't tell what's there and can't implant anything, just basically put a tarp over it for a while) or would it just stop all outside influence in general?

Also, if he already compartmentalizes like a pro, he's similar enough that it'd probably have something of a really low-grade effect even if it DID work. Like, it couldn't do as much damage as it could to someone more normally emotional since Snape is already screwed in that department as it is (much like how No-Name can't zap himself with his own power)? IDK, throwing out brain matter here to see what sticks. :|a

Occulumency is never really explained adequately. Just that it's keeping Snape safe as a spy, and can keep Voldemort out of his head. Portrait Dumbledore worried about Harry's mind being violated and seeing Snape helping him but Snape's with him all the damn time, and yet, remains unknown as a spy to the end. This would indicate that he can feed false info to appear loyal still, since... Voldey bought it until he killed him.

Horrible, Terribly irony: No-Name acts as occ booster, making Snape even harder to mentally mess with. Not that they'd be able to figure this out easily... but slowly crushes his ability to turn it off.

/throws more brainmatter.

I think the ability to feed false info thing *is* right, 'cause wasn't that how they drew Harry and crew down to that trap in book 5 in the first place? Ugh I need to re-read so badly, but so little TIME...

Oh hot damn I love me some twisted turns of events. That would be so wonderfully horrific, I love it so!

i'm not against this happening with any of my characters (hank, vic, alex and kanaya), should the occasion arise. just ping me when it does and we'll work out whatever specifics to the particular situation!
