Well, I feel like a total idiot for not checking into this beforehand but it didn't dawn on me that it might be a problem. Apparently it's illegal to ship wine to or from Arizona. Private shipping would definitly be better than USPS for this one. Don't know what the legality is between someone with a liquer liscense as opposed to an individual shipping a gift, as it is not like anyone will be opening packages to look for clandestine shipments of wine at this time of year.

Apparently in AZ you have to have some kind of alcohol license. I really don't think anyone would open the boxes up and check it out, but knowing our luck we'd get busted for it, and my husband is on a very stupid 5 year probation so I hate to even chance it, not to mention losing an autographed bottle!

We're still checking into some other options and haven't gotten a final word from FedEx yet. If worse comes to worse I supposed we can take them next time we go home, (Sucks for the TN recipients since they'd have to pick theirs up next time they're in AL) but I think I might trust the USPS more than a TSA baggage handler, lol.

Pretty darn lame. I guess there is some concern over people shipping alcohol to underage people, but honestly wouldn't it be easier to have someone go in a store where you LIVE and buy it? And how about requiring ID and a signature to have it delivered? Doesn't sound that hard to me. And the laws vary state to state to make it extra confusing. OH we'll, we'll figure something out.
