One of Morray's (seemingly few) personal indulgences involves (whether he likes it or not, and he doesn't) the nexus. There's a few enterprising young Midkemians - Islemen, mainly - who'll sell or barter items from just such a world. Morray's own, as it turns out; once he'd got over the indignity of paying for his own belongings, he's even managed ( Read more... )

Nate meant to talk to Threnody the other day, but he lost his nerve. A hard day, he'd said, work sucked, people sucked, everything sucked. Which is true. She probably didn't buy it.

So he'll try again. Maybe. If she's here. Which she isn't.

Which means Nate is just looking fidgety and weird, standing around debating on going home or calling her or screaming or something.

Morray is not what one would call 'sociable'. What little charisma and/or charm he possesses is more or less the sole purview of his wife. He never much liked anyone before, and he likes most of them less in this surreal afterlife.

So it's not exactly his first instinct to say hi. But - he passed through here briefly the other day, and this man was with Threnody. Hnn.

"Are you looking for someone?"

Nate knew another person was about, but seems.. somewhat surprised by his crate, hi. He'd look familiar, but Nate wasn't paying the closest attention to passers-by the other day.

"Uh."

Eloquent, dude.

"No. I mean. I was. But she's not here." ... "...Obviously."

Expect the unexpected, Nate, especially in the nexus. (What's in the crate? Nothing very interesting, unless you're Ernest Morray.)

"Threnody?" he suggests, mild.
