I am home for the weekend, so now I can do this!

Adventure Comics #1:

I liked this. Kon making his little list is so cute, as well as the liedtoSupermanangst! at the end. It definitely looks interesting, and there was Bart! Wanting to smash his memorial statue and getting all hyperactive about it! And wearing boots to bed! (Which reminded me of Luna ( Read more... )

It's Geoff Johns, though. Your moral character is determined solely by your blood.

I'm surprised Johns would play an actual life-destroying mental disorder for laughs actually.

Yeah, that was a real "the hell?" moment.

I liked Myndi.

Don't tell Bluefall, but she's probably my #2 favorite thing about v2 relaunch, after everyone becoming awesome.

OH GOD NOT AGAIN-

wait, you do? For some reason I thought you loathed her. In that case, I DEMAND you edit When Wondy Was Awesome to include more of her.

I need to reread 52, but it's hard to find all the trades in bookstores...and then read the Crime Bible series

The Crime Bible series is fascinating. It was dealt with in a good enough way in 52, I suppose, but Greg Rucka really fleshed it out and created a whole world in the Five Books of Blood miniseries. I've read it multiple times, and I always want to go back and read it again. Plus, the collected edition has a thorough examination of Renee Montoya's journal--a real-life item that Greg Rucka, Jen Van Meter and Eric Trautmann put together and mailed to several comics organizations to "advertise" Five Books of Blood. It's just as interesting as the main series.

Plus, incredible artwork! Matthew Clark, Jose Saiz, Tom Mandrake, Manuel Garcia and Diego Olmos. Each issue deals with a different theme, a different sin, and as such, has a different artist.

Oh my god I want to go back and reread it now.

For what it's worth? I'd totally drop something in favor of Power Girl if I were in your situation. It's the best new book I've read all year.
