Happy New Year Nev! Congrats on the grades! that's really good news :)

Azumanga Daoih is one of my favourite comics. I ordered Marvel Fairy tales yesterday, so how's that for a coincidence? I have Spider Man fairy tales so I'm really hopeful about this one. I think there's and X men fairy tales one too...?? And then there's Fray, yes Fray is very very good.

Let me know what you think of O My Goddess!, I've been thinking about reading it for quite a while.

I got my copy in the post today. It's an odd size, about A5, maybe a little bigger. Is yours regular size or also this sort of digest size?

I don't think I told you guys I managed to make straight A's this Semester!
Congratulations!

Also, I've started picking up Spidergirl, which is fun, quirky and female driven, but only one issue in.
The new Spidergirl book sort of threw me for a loop, because I'd been a reader of the previous Spidergirl book, and hadn't heard anything about a new character taking up the name until issue #1 showed up in my pull box.

Also picking up the X-23 title. It's cool I guess.
I need to look into this. I was fond of the two miniseries about her backstory (I have a terrible weakness for tykebombs), but in pretty much anything else she showed up in she was poorly written, so I quit bothering.

Fray: Sequel to Buffy IN THE FUTURE.
I really enjoyed Fray (other than the year I had to wait for the last issue... what is it with Joss Whedon and schedule slip?), and kind of wish they'd done more of that instead of the Buffy: Season 8 comic (which I dropped a while back for descending into a quagmire of fail).

Batgirl [...] The only con is the continues ( ... )

Well, honestly, if Steph and Cass were in the same book and reasonably in character, it would be perfect to me no matter what. Also, yeah, Batgirl has other flaws, but I'm easily pleased ( ... )

Yeah, I can't really argue with that. It's been so long since that happened (Six years? I got into Batgirl just in time to find out Steph was dead. Not cool.) that they could base an entire plot on the moon beign made of green cheese and I would probably still be ecstatic.

Regarding Claymore, I think I've gotten to where the anime and manga must split off (it involves a time skip)
If there's just been a big battle in the north, then that's the place.

I do appreciate the gender role-reversal of Clare and Raki's relationship (that's also half the fun of the leads of Shakugan no Shana--she slays monsters, he's bait) and the obvious thematic parallels of what Clare did for Raki with what Teresa did for Clare. And in the early episodes, he didn't annoy me or anything, and served a valuable narrative role as a "link to humanity" for Clare. But then he's absent from the story for such a long stretch of time (even ( ... )

The Claymore anime falls apart a bit (IE: falls into standard Shoenen Fighter tropes) in the last 2-4 episodes. The manga is far better.

Ghost in the Shell is good, heady stuff. Definitely deserving of its near constant rotation on Adult Swim. Though I'm glad the Major gets to wear more clothes in each following series.

Seirei no Moribito is something you'll definitely enjoy. It hits most of your Feminist buttons.

Pluto is a series I can't recommend hard enough. I love Robots dealing with what it means to be "Human" stories. Good times.

Devilman is something I've been making regular posts of over at Scans_daily. Only available through scanlations in the US, though--which annoys me greatly. I'd buy the hell out of that series! It's very dark and it's ending later influenced Evangelion. Really.

Fullmetal Alchemist is one of those series that's going to be remembered for ages.

Yotsuba is just SO ADORABLE.

You've got a pretty good reading list for the year--here's to your enjoyment!

NEVER MOVE ON MICHAEL, WE WON'T EITHER. NEVER MOVE ON TILL YOU'VE RESURRECTED TED AND REFORMED MAX!

You managed to make a huge update of wfa, write a good multi-chapter fanfic, make big inroads in your sporking (there's an end in sight!), read manga and comics, watch anime, draw and blog regularly on interests both here and especially on tumblr, acquire new friends (including a very good friend who's a boy ;) ) AND get straight A's last semester?! Damn, I'm impressed.
