I guess it must be funny, because everyone likes it and I still laugh whenever I read it despite being the one who wrote it I am such a loser. Grant Morrison's sheer insanity inspires fun summaries.

This is how Batman: The Return went, according to me skimmin' in the comic shop.

Bruce: Barbara, Stephanie! So glad you could join us.

Steph: Yeah, this ( Read more... )

batman, catwoman, dick grayson, barbara gordon, batgirl, stephanie brown, robin

Well, he pretty much said that exactly. Poor kid, I even have to feel sorry for him. he may be a little fucker, but he is TRYing, and this is suppose to be Bruce's SON. And Damian obviously loves Dick so much it hurts and just can't express it, so.

Yes, I like Damian now. Mostly not when written by Morrison, and mostly because of fanon, but it's like I can't not like a Robin.

I mean look at this! Aww. :(

Yeah, I hate the character concept and what it's done to Talia and how he gets more attention that the girls who deserve it more, but he and Dick are so cute together and it's adorable seeing Dick be a daddy (he should totally take Cass and Steph in as kids too okay) and there's tons of cute fanart...and he's hilarious with Steph and Kara and totally has a crush on Cass, so.

Loved it on tumblr (don't have an account there, which is why didn't comment there), love it here.

I suspect the new Batgirl avatar is a "solution" for those at DC who wanted Babs to become Batgirl again last year. And it still makes no sense. Why would Babs want people to associate Oracle with the original Batgirl?

And, Grant, you really do have no idea how the internet works.

I've not read this issue because I heard it was not-so-good. Your summary was a nice substitute though. Morrison's work on Batman and Robin has been pretty fantastic, but it seems like he flails helplessly whenever it comes to writing the extended Bat-Family.

Have you read the latest Red Robin with Cass in it? I was wondering what you thought of that.

I plan to review that eventually but basically: Liked it, Cass was actually in character, yey! My problems are that it was too short, superflous belts and totally not Cass related- I thought Tim decided not to be an asshole, but then he pulls shit like offering Cass the Batgirl mantle back without consulting Steph (maybe? I don't know if Steph even knows where Cass is! Why.)

I liked her new costume, I'm ambivalent about her being Batgirl even if she stays in Hong Kong. More than anything though, this issue convinced me that Tim is gay. I mean look how how dispassionate he is with Lynx on the cover. And when she kisses him all he can think about is how much of a disaster it's going to be. He's still in love with Conner.

...Er wow that was off topic.

Um yeah, I'm not impressed with the book but at least Cass wasn't maimed again.
