I like how you justify that Loki calls himself god. You turn all what happened into stepping stones for Loki.
And of course the laughter... chilling.
I'm stating to absolutely love your quotes at the end of the fics. "Mother of Monsters" and now this. It's so true and twisted that it's so fitting for the god of lies.
Poor Avengers, they died and earth died with them...

Considering that most peoples idea of "dark" seems to contain an heavy emphasis on physical pain or mind-games, I guess this was relatively 'light'... °_0
I thought Loki is one of the Asgardian gods who actually worked for his abilities, like with his magic and studying and whatnot, so I wanted to show how his power is garnered. You found the perfect word for it "stepping stones" *nods happily*
LOL Thank you, sometimes I feel more like Master Yoda having swallowed a fortune cookie, when I write that stuff in the end - but it works for me :) Usually, it is just something that hits me unawares out of the blue when I want to wrap the FF up. Although I think this one IS actually a quote from someone else...?
Yeah, poor Tony & Co. but that's life - you can't always win :)

It's interesting that Loki here kind of wins his power through pain. He *pays* for them.
I love reading your fortune cookies, so never stop? :) It could be a quote...
I contemplated an FF with Loki and a few quote from sun tzu.
Like this one: "Though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays."
Or this one: "To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting."
- you can so hear Thor and Loki argueing about that.
That's the interesting part about Loki. He can't win, because the moment he does everything ends. Most of the time Loki simply rebalances things, even in the myths, but he never wins.

That power comes at a steep price.
I like his other quote too, like "keep your friends close but your enemies closer" ^-^ And I see them arguing without ever being able to meet in the middle *nods* That's exactly was Loki already does, but Thor would say that there is no honor in such methods.
But I want him to win *pouts*
