My only advise would be to stay out of trouble.

Oh, of course, that goes without saying!
I shall be on my best behaviour.

...somehow your reputation back home makes that hard to believe.

Your continued mistrust injures me, Romana. It really does.

It seems to be the day to have arrivals from London. It's almost a comfort, in an odd way.

And, no, the City is not usually overrun by wild animals.

You're from there too then, I presume.

So it is a curse then. Unfortunate. Affecting residents directly or is it just a sort of Pied Piper influence?

I am, yes, though I have to ask when you're from. I've met a few others from London, but few from my own time.

Yes, it is a curse and, like all curses, I would assume it affects all those struck by it directly.

I just came from 2008.

Something similar to today's curse happened to me once, actually. I'm glad it doesn't seem to be affecting me today.

Mmhmm~, just another of the curses. The City's being quite creative this month.

And you don't have to pay for the apartments right away, you can take one now.

They seem very interesting.

I'd like to understand the City perhaps a little more before I go lunging to claim an apartment. Also, I'd like to not get savaged on my way. Bit of a priority for me.

Most of the time they are.

Oh~ well, if you prefer not having a place to stay. And it's really not all that dangerous.

I'm aware of that. Don't patronise me. I'm in the middle of apartment-hunting now.

Empathy not necessary, only appreciated when it happens to occur.

Well, I'm a fighter, not a lover.

But it's your lucky day because from what I've seen most people here are the opposite.

Hey there, Harold Saxon from London. I'm Penny, and this is super-helpful if you want to know about the City and have a lot of time to read while you're cornered in the library.

If you ever need anything--winter clothes, a place to stay until you find an apartment, a meal--you can come by the Welcome Center. It's in the middle of the City by the fountain. Or you can always ask around if you need something. Almost everyone's really friendly and willing to help out.

That does actually look very useful, Penny: the information page and the Welcome Centre. Thank you; your friendliness really only cements the excellent opinion I have of the City and its residents so far. Feel free to just call me Harry.

You're very welcome, and thank you, Harry. I hope you're not too bothered by the curse today.

Hardly affecting me at all, really. I'm sure I'd have ended up in the Library even if there wasn't a curse on.
