I feel guilty, spending the money that I did on a dress to wear to a party. After all, there are so many others who are doing without. It seems so extravagant, to be wearing something so nice, only one night out of the year

Well, if there are any other fancy parties that you're invited to - I wonder if they hold a mid-winter celebration here - you could always wear it then, too. Or if you really feel guilty about it, have a tailor make a few child's dresses out of it - then they could go to Tayon girls, or orphanages. I'm sure the children would be very excited!
