Ladies and gentlemen, grab your mittens because hell has officially frozen over.

Holy shit. Holy shit! Holy shit!

So the post-doc from hell? The one who did absolutely nothing and had aspirations for lab domination? The one that yelled at our boss in the hallway loud enough for the whole floor to hear and didn't even get a slap on the wrist for it? The one that we NEVER THOUGHT THE BOSS WOULD FIRE?

HE FIRED HER!I'm ( Read more... )

That should be good news, right? Unless...are y'all screwed now? I hope not! But it'll be nice to have her gone, yes? *tentative \o/*

Oh, it's definitely good news, but it's just so shocking. I mean. Bossman not firing her was one of the basic laws of nature...and now it's been broken. The entire lab is unsettled and it's just weird being at work now. *shrugs*

Didn't stop us from going out drinking to celebrate Friday. =D Well, and to celebrate the end of my horrible student! Double yay!

Hey, guess what? I remembered to get the links for a couple of the things I promised I'd link you to. YAY!

Vampirepants by theaerosolkid - This is that hot Brendon/Jon vampire fic. Mmmm.

That's What He Said by addictedkitten ( Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3) - A super-hot GSF featuring cockslut!Ryan!

Was there something else you can remember that I'm supposed to send you? That was all I could recall, but lemme know if I'm wrong!

P.S. In case you were wondering, I ended up going with the "Shitty Spy Who's Tracking Carmen" idea for work. How was the rest of YOUR Halloween?

Yay! I think there was one other fic, but I can't remember which one. I swear, I'm getting senile.

And I'll send you the link to Sessions tonight. I know there was something else I was supposed to send you the link to, but I can't remember. Was it just that lj post with The Academy Is... on youtube? *shrugs*

PS. I'm sure you looked great as the shitty spy. =) Did you guys do any crazy spy moments? Any humming the Mission Impossible theme or anything? =D

PPS. My Halloween was spent trying to catch up on everything. Well, that and holding Beanie because apparently she was VERY happy to be home and VERY happy to see me again. She didn't let me out of her sight, which is sweet, but yeah. Hard to do much with a chihuahua permanently attached to your arm.

I just have to ask the question (because he didn't fire her when she screamed at him) - what was she fired for?

And \0/ for you - the system does work! :)

It's actually interesting that you ask that as everyone in the lab has been wondering the exact same thing, because lately, she's been halfway tolerable so it seems crazy that he chose now to fire her. The bad thing is that I do know what happened but I've been sworn to secrecy. It's KILLING ME!

But.

I can tell you! =D Because something tells me that you aren't going to tell bossman on me.

So basically, it all goes down to the fact that she's a bitch that no one likes, no one gets along with, and does absolutely no work. The problem was that bossman and this chick go way back, so he never felt comfortable firing her. But then he didn't get a grant that he applied for and he used that as his excuse (even though we still have the funding for her) to get rid of her. So technically he 'laid her off,' but when the phrase, "She's such a pain in the ass" crosses his lips as he discusses 'laying her off,' and he's actually happy that we didn't get the grant so that he can 'lay her off'...well. Yeah.

Wow. See, this is where nepotism can bite you in the ass as much as open doors for you. :P

Now, if only you could also get rid of that other guy who needs the instructions repeated endlessly...
