haha, this chapter is brilliant. I like DCS Farmer, he amuses me. Also, Stones is intriguing. Poor Baynham.

I do like Farmer! Baynham continues to be a prat, and I want a Stones. I do love the interjections from baynham too. I look forward to more; I was worried when I saw "final part".

Would Baynham be so shocked by the ring than he's fall over though? It's funny, but shooting bolt-upright and then sitting down embarrassed would also be and maybe more in character for a copper?

Stones put in,
“Quite so, ma'am. I found the inspector in the pond in the walled garden.”
Shouldn't that all be one line?

Thanks very much for the comments! Maybe Baynham is a bit too twitchy, especially for a copper...may revise this :)

And I see a couple of typos in my comment now. :-P I agree, he'd be on edge but not that twitchy I don't think. Falling in the pond is understandable though as he went over a wall.
