mason jars

so ive recently discovered the joy of using mason jars in place of tupperware or ziplocs. tupperware can be attractive in its own way i suppose, if you can get your hands on it. but theres nothing cute about a ziptop hefty bag full of squishy chicken enchilada parts. a mason jar filled with chicken enchilada filling, though, is a sight to behold ( Read more... )

Hey now, I'm a canner. XD I do a lot more than beets too. (Okra tomato soup base, jalapeños, pickled okra, onions, garlic... omg pickled garlic is so delish.) You knew I was getting into the whole homesteading stuff though.

Salad in a jar would be... futile for me (5 people in the house), but it's a cute idea.

Michelle, hide the bubble wrap! (or don't. Rolling around in it and popping it sounds like fun!) XD

Be sure to save your pickle jars too, they are good for storing dry goods (flour, cornmeal, brown sugar...) and spices. *hugs*

lol i don't have it in me to learn how to can - cooking is one thing, but i'm the kinda girl who'll cook enough for a 20 course dinner party for 200 and then just leave the food on the stove lol. like i said, all i got energy to do is literally put beets in the pickle juice and eat it 20 minutes later ( ... )
