I know in basic care packages are generally very limited--- they confiscate everything as contraband. But, as soon as I get her basic training address (she's still in the transitional barracks at the moment) I will post it in a f-locked post for anyone wanting to send cards/letters etc...
Even though it was 13 years ago that I went through basic, the most memorable times always came around mail call, some things will never change.
Also, as a former sailor, especially as a former recruiter, if you or your soon-to-be sailor have any questions feel free to email me at neutronjockey at don't spam my yahoo dot com.
