When you have an easy boring job (like I did for several years) you start to spend a lot of time questioning if what you're doing serves any real purpose at all. Eventually, that leads to a bad attitude at, and outside of work.
Even though I'm a fresh, new, green teacher, there are days when I ask myself, "How the fuck did I get myself into this?" Then I remember how incredibly, mind-numbingly BORED I was in my previous life, and how angry I was every day that I was totally useless to society.
So far, teaching at the Secondary level seems to be a hard, draining and grinding job...But I'm not exactly sure I'd go back to cutting and pasting pictures on a computer either.
(However, I do miss having evenings, weekends and pre-dawn mornings off though! Oh well.)
